VSD vacuum pumps are environmentally friendly, since there is no oil in the working chamber (dry pumping), and small amounts of oil must be poured into the gearbox. These pumps are more efficient than liquid-sealed models and are well suited for industrial process applications.
The most common applications of VSD pumps:
- in the chemical industry (vacuum installations for the production of ABS plastic, polystyrene, polycarbonates, thermoplastic biodegradable plastics, perfumes and processes, molecular distillation),
- in metallurgy, for metal heat treatment processes (vacuum hardening almost completely eliminates the risk of oxidation on the metal surface),
- in glass industries (vacuum spraying, production of lamps and vessels),
- in the food industry (vacuum installations for thermoforming lines, degassing and drying processes).
