Vacuum pumps and units for rectification columns
Rectification is the separation of liquid and liquefied gas mixtures based on the diffusion exchange of matter between nonequilibrium phases and accompanied by interfacial heat exchange. Vacuum rectification is used in the petrochemical industry to separate oil into gasoline, fuel oil and other products, in the production of carbon disulfide, synthetic rubber, for cleaning solvents, reagents, raw materials, etc.
Vacuum pumps are capable of condensing saturated steam from the rectification process. In this case, solvents, including naphtha, can be used as a working fluid. Due to this, valuable solvents are captured in the vacuum system of the distillation column and can be reused.
